Designed by golf course architect, Floyd Farley, Alva Golf and Country Club was first opened for play on April 29, 1956.  From a sandy, open hill in its early days, to the lush tree-lined challenging golf course it has become, this nine-hole golf course has been one of the best-kept secrets in all of northwest Oklahoma. At present, our web site is still under construction. We are making an effort to present you with our entire spectrum of offers as soon as possible. At this point we can provide you with information regarding hours of operation, membership information, directions, fees, upcoming tournaments,etc. The emphasis of our site is on helping our community and visitors connect to us with ease.  This topic is certainly of interest to you. I was totally surprised to learn that Alva even had a country club! I had always been aware that there was a golf course in Alva, but I had never gone there - I'm not a golfer. We made the short drive to the Alva Golf Course and Country Club and I was pleasantly surprised with the surroundings and we were greeted in a most friendly manner by Ruby who runs the inside facility. We ordered from the grill; cheese burgers for all. We were told the variety of options for condiments and I went with the works including grilled onions. I ordered a fountain drink and found my way to the beverage machine to get a rootbeer. When the burgers came, they were served with a bag of chips and a pickle wedge. The burger was excellent and home made as good as mother could make! The grilled onions were so delicious I could have gone for a second burger just to have more of them! I'm sold on the Country Club's lunch! I plan to be there often - maybe I'll see you there! Our golf course is located at 44483 Jefferson Road, Alva, Ok 73717.  Which is aprox 3 miles North of Alva on Hwy 281.  Where the road has the passing lane at the top of the hill you will turn west (left) onto Jefferson Road. It is next to the large white fence, from there it is aprox 1/2 mile west on  Jefferson Road.
